Enhancements in MAGic 11.0.1126 (June 2008)
The following reported items were addressed in this update. All enhancements since the initial public beta release are included in the update.
MAGic
- Resolved issues with Apple iTunes™ installed on a Windows Vista system that prevented MAGic from launching.
- AVG Anti-Virus 8.0 software no longer fails when you start the application while MAGic is running.
- Resolved an issue where several customers reported installation error #824 when trying to install MAGic after running a registry cleaner. This problem no longer occurs with versions 11.0.1126 and later.
- If you cancel changes to an existing Voice Profile, your profile is no longer modified.
- The full ILM and dongle releases of MAGic can now be installed over the 40-minute MAGic demo version. This lets you keep any MAGic settings and configurations created while running the demo version. It also eliminates the need to uninstall the demo application before installing the full product.
- MAGic now permanently saves any application-specific settings made while running that application. Previously, the settings would only apply for that application session.
Citrix Program Neighborhood
- MAGic 11.0 supports Citrix Program Neighborhood® 10.
Microsoft Excel
- MAGic now retains and reads column and row titles that you set in multiple Excel worksheets. Before, when you returned to the previous worksheet, MAGic would not announce column and row titles (CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+C and CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+R).
Microsoft Internet Explorer
- After selecting the Skip to Content link on the Social Security Administration Web page, and a few other Web pages, MAGic now consistently moves to the next link on the page when you press TAB.
Microsoft Office
- MAGic no longer repeats the column and row information when navigating by line (UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW) in a one row, one column table.
Microsoft Outlook
- E-mail messages no longer close when you select and copy message text using the APPLICATION Key's Copy command.
- Calendar appointments are now spoken correctly as they gain focus.
- MAGic now fully supports short date formats where the day precedes the month, for example, dd-mm-yyyy, for Spanish, French, and other localized versions of Outlook.
Microsoft Word
- When performing a Say All in a Word document, newly edited words are not broken up as MAGic reads the text. For example, the word "other" is no longer read as "o th er" by MAGic.
- MAGic now announces the Word Count dialog box statistics when you press ALT+T, W in Word 2007 or Word 2003 documents.
- The keystrokes ALT+SHIFT+R and ALT+SHIFT+C will now correctly speak the table’s row and column titles respectively.
- If a Word table was created using bookmarks to make the table more accessible, MAGic will now read the bookmarked column and row titles correctly when the Defined Bookmark Table Column and Row Titles Override option is turned on.
- When using the Dynamic Lens, MAGic now tracks the correct line when moving with the arrow keys in a Word 2003 document.
Skype
- While chatting on Skype™, you can now quickly navigate through messages using the ARROW Keys and still have MAGic speak the correct message.
