What is a Podcast?

Podcasts are a way of automatically receiving a wide variety of audio and video content on your computer. The material is automatically downloaded to your PC using special podcast software. The software will check at pre-determined intervals for updates to your podcasts. The latest edition of our podcast will be automatically delivered to your PC without any effort on your part.

While people do listen to podcasts on their Windows PC, many people also synchronize their podcasts onto a portable device, such as PAC Mate™, so they can listen while they're mobile. Despite what the name might imply, you do not need an iPod to listen to podcasts. Many PAC Mate users listen to podcasts on their daily commute.

The term "subscribing to a podcast" does not, in most cases, mean you must pay for a subscription. The vast majority of podcasts, including FSCast, are available free of charge. Subscribing to the podcast simply means you are telling your podcast receiver to deliver new episodes of the podcast to your PC automatically.

If you prefer, you can download the MP3 file of FSCast from this page. The advantage of subscribing to the FSCast podcast feed, however, is that you do not need to check back for updates.

What Software Do I Need to Receive Podcasts?

Many podcast receivers are available. The free Juice podcast receiver works well with JAWS. Download it from http://juicereceiver.sourceforge.net/download/index.php

We hope you enjoy FSCast, if you have comments or suggestions, you can e-mail us at the address in the podcast.
